We are keen to improve the traffic management and road safety throughout the area. We have some ideas for traffic safety initiatives, including more signage to increase speed limit awareness but are always open for more input and ideas from residents.

Update: 14 October 2024

After a few months situated on Walsingham Drive, the safety group decided that the new location of the SID would be on Pitts Heath Lane, between the entrances to Steventon and Dorchester Park. The device was moved in early August and the two reports that have been generated since then are published below.

Update: 06 March 2024

After some initial issues with the new SID that was placed on Walsingham Drive, we are pleased to say that it is now fully working. The location and direction of the SID has been decided to help raise awareness of speeding to drivers as they are heading further into Sandymoor.

Update: 27 February 2024

We have recently purchased a speed indicator device (SID) for the parish to assist in this initiative, which will be moved around the area a regular intervals. If you have an area of concern with respect to speeding traffic and would like to suggest a future location of the SID then please email Arthur with the relevant information.

The initial placement of our SID is on Walsingham Drive.

In addition to our SID, Halton Borough Council have had their own SID situated on Newmoore Lane for the last month or so to monitor the speed traffic has been travelling from Moore into Sandymoor. We are keen to improve the traffic management and road safety throughout the area. We have some ideas for traffic safety initiatives, including more signage to increase speed limit awareness but are always open for more input and ideas from residents.

The data from both SIDs is published below.
