We have had many people commenting about how lovely the planters look and what a nice addition they have been to our area but coming into the warmer months, we desperately need some volunteers to help water them to keep them looking their best.
At the moment we have 3 lovely volunteers who are watering all of the planters and with there being 7 to maintain, that is a lot of work for them, especially as they have to transport the water from their homes to the planters. If there is anyone who is willing to help, especially those who live near one of them that would be happy to run a hose to fill up the reservoir in the base of the planter, then please let us know. After all the time and effort that was put into getting them placed and planted up, it would be a shame for them to die off due to lack of watering. If you can donate a small amount of time each week, then please email Arthur, our clerk, letting him know which of the planters you are located near or which you would be able to help with and we can organise things from there.
Planter 1 is at the junction of Calmington Lane and Newmoore Lane.
Planter 2 is by the junction of Pitts Heath Lane and Sunnyside Lane, just as you enter Sandymoor from the large roundabout.
Planter 3 is at the opposite end of Pitts Heath Lane, near the smaller roundabout next to Rudheath Lane.
Planter 4 is next to the mini roundabout at the junction of Newmore Lane and Wharford Lane.
Planters 5, 6 & 7 are at the local centre, and we have installed an outside tap at Sandymoor hall for access to water for those planters.
Planter 8 is outside Sandymoor Ormiston Academy which the school maintain and therefore not requiring watering by volunteers.
