Off road bikes

As the summer months come to an end we should now see a decrease in the numbers of off road bikes being used. This will coincide with the work that we have undertaken with Op Scrambler which has targeted known users of off road bikes.

Over the past couple of months we have also issued several tickets to riders on Moore Nature Reserve and Oxmoor Nature Reserve, which will furthermore deter any riders from using these areas in the future.  Please continue to report as we have an operation running called Op Scrambler to tackle the problem.

Anti-Social Behaviour

There have been reports of youths hanging around in the underpass on Keckwick Lane and also around the stables near to Sandymoor Lane.

Roads Policing

Speeding continues to be an issue within the area, however we have been out and about with the Speed-Camera to try and combat this issue.

Northwich Road continues to be a major issue with vehicles speeding as the road changes from the national speed limit to a 30 mile per hour zone.               Several vehicles have activated our Speed-Camera at this location in September.

The beginning of September saw the reopening of the schools in the area and with that the ongoing issues with traffic in and around the schools. Please can you not park on double yellow lines or block resident’s driveways in these areas.

Bridgewater Grange is still being monitored since the introduction of double yellow lines and Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued to offending vehicles.

Suspicious Activity

An information Leaflet drop was carried out in the Moore Village area due to some suspicious activity being reported around Hobb Lane. Since these original reports we have had no further issues. However, please can you remain vigilant and report anything or anyone that looks out of place.

If you have any intelligence about drugs activity in your area please call 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111
Schools in the area are regularly visited by the local PCSO to assist with parking issues etc.

Parish Council Meetings  are also attended, when we are available, to discuss any Policing issues.

Surgeries – We are now holding weekly surgeries in different locations at different times and they will be advertised beforehand. Please come and discuss any Policing issues with us.

10th October 13:00 – 14:00 at Daresbury Village Hall

17th October 15:00 – 14:00 at Windmill Hill Children’s Centre

25th October 18:00 – 19:00 at Sandymoor School

Boundary review

The Commission is carrying out an electoral review of Halton Borough Council.

The aim of the electoral review is to recommend ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters.

We also aim to ensure that the ward boundaries reflect the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government.

To achieve these aims, we need to re-draw ward boundaries across Halton. You can find out more about the review below.

IFE Centenary Conference

In September 2017 Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) opened the doors of a new state-of the-art lifeskills centre, Safety Central, aimed primarily at keeping young people safe. This prompted the Service’s decision to focus their forthcoming Institution of Fire Engineers centenary conference on and around young people.

The one day event, ‘100 Years Young – futureproofing Generation Alpha’, hosted by North Western Branch and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and sponsored by Paragon Creative, is on Wednesday 26 September July at Safety Central, Lymm, Warrington, Cheshire. The title celebrates the IFE Centenary as well as highlighting the focus on young people born after 2011, designated Generation Alpha and predicted to be the most transformative generation ever.

More awards success for Safe and Well Visits programme

Awards continue to roll in for our groundbreaking initiative that continues to improve the health of potentially vulnerable people.

Our Safe and Well Visits programme – for the over 65s and people who are referred to the fire service by partner agencies because they are considered to be at a particular risk – has scooped a host of awards since it was launched in February 2017 in collaboration with the NHS and local authority directors of public health.

The latest success saw the initiative win the Innovation in the Care of Long Term Conditions gong at the NHS Healthcare Transformation Awards at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London for the second year running.
